This type of legume has so many names, but I believe it’s popularly known as Lima beans. Its fruits are grown in vines in tropical areas, worldwide. Bicolanos love to cook many types of vegetables, including legumes, in coconut milk, and so is Lima beans.

Pisug or Lima beans when cooked, are usually partnered with other vegetables, like Malunggay leaves, sliced eggplants or long beans(sitaw). Adding the usual condiments like pork belly or smoked fish and bagoong(shrimp paste), and spices. Bicolanos are fond of chili peppers added to many dishes as an appetizing flavor, like this dish is.
