Everybody loves crispy, fried chicken wings, who wouldn’t anyway? This recipe is quick and simple to make, but what we need is to ensure that the end result is a deliciously flavored, succulent fried chicken wings that everyone can enjoy. Fried Chicken recipes are a global favorite. Some are simply marinated with salt and pepper, then fried until golden brown, others apply a hot sauce such as buffalo sauce to create a spicy flavor to it.

Then, there’s the Filipino style fried chicken wings in which, vinegar is used as the main marinade ingredient. Millie’s fried Chicken recipe on the other hand, is marinated with a squeeze of lemon and spices, then deep fried to perfection. The result is a uniquely delicious, crispy, fried chicken wings.

Ingredients: 3-4 servings

2 lbs. of chicken wings and thighs
2 tbsp. of garlic powder
2 tbsp. of onion powder
3 cloves of chopped garlic
3/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
salt & pepper to taste

Frying Preparation:

  1. On a large bowl, combine all seasoning ingredients, whisk to combine. Apply wings and thighs and thoroughly mix with the marinade to even up the coating.
  2. For better tasting deep fried, chicken wings, leave the marinated chicken wings in the fridge for 12-24 hours and let the marinade soak in.
  3. On a deep frying pan, heat up enough amount of vegetable oil to allow the deep frying process. Fry the chicken wings in small batches. Give each piece enough room to fry evenly until chicken wings and thighs turn crispy golden brown.

Dipping Sauce:

  1. On a heated pan, apply a tablespoon of cooking oil. Combine 1 small can of tomato paste and 2 tablespoon of teriyaki sauce with 2-3 tablespoon of water.
  2. Bring it to a boil, apply a tablespoon of brown sugar, garlic powder, crushed black peppers and a squeeze of lemon juice. Stir and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  3. Cool it off for a few minutes prior to serving with crispy, fried chicken wings!

Tip: For crispier result, roll the chicken into 1/2 a cup of all-purpose flour or seasoned bread crumbs, prior to frying. Serve with a chicken dip of your choice.
