Ingredients: 8-10 servings

5-6 large fresh Fuji apples
1 box(32 oz.) of fresh large strawberries
1/3 cup of white sugar
2 tsp pectin
3 tbsp. cornstarch
2 ready crusts (Marie Callender)

Baking Procedure:

  1. Set oven temperature to 375F. Skin off Granny apples and slice them in quarter of an inch thin. Wash and cut strawberries in the same width as apples.
  2. Place sliced apples and strawberries on a large mixing bowl. Add cornstarch and pectin and white sugar, then mix thoroughly to combine.
  3. Pour the fruit mixture onto the bottom ready crust, remove the second crust from its tray, then cover the apple mix with it.
  4. Fold the crust edges to seal the pie, using a fork or your fingers. Poke small holes on the top crust using a fork to allow the steam to escape from inside, therefore preventing pie crust to pop and destroy the pie.
  5. Brush the cover crust with egg yolk. This will produce a shiny brown look on the crust when pie is done. Repeat the same procedure to the extra crusts for excess apples and strawberry mix, if there is.
  6. Place pie in the middle rack of the heated oven, bake it up to 20-30 minutes or when crust appears golden brown and crusty when perfectly baked.
  7. Turn off oven and take this deliciously fruity, Apples & Strawberry Pies out. Serve it warm or at room temperature. Cool it off, then slice a piece of the pie when ready to serve.

Tip: Apply a scope of ice cream on top prior to serving. Vanilla flavored is a great idea!
