Ingredients: 3-4 servings
2 lbs. fresh shrimps, deveined & shells removed
2 cups of snow peas(chicharo)
3 tbsp. of oyster sauce
1/2 medium, sliced onion
2 cloves of chopped garlic
1/2 tsp of dried thyme
2-3 tbsp. of canola oil
1/2 tsp crushed black peppers
Directions:
- Clean, remove shells and devein the shrimps. Wash, cut and slice onions and garlic. Remove the stringy part around the snow peas.
- Heat canola oil on a large skillet, over a medium heat. Sautee chopped garlic and sliced onions. Add the shrimps, stir a few times to combine ingredients.
- Apply oyster sauce, dried thyme leaves, then season with crushed black peppers. Keep stirring ingredients as you add the snow peas.
- Continue to stir ingredients and allow the shrimps and peapods to cook for 5-8 minutes. Remove Stir-Fried Shrimps with Crispy Snow Peas from the heat immediately, This will preserve the snow peas’ crispy texture and will prevent shrimps from overcooking, that may leads to the gummy texture when shrimps are overcooked.
- Serve this delicious combination of juicy-soft, stir-fried shrimps, and the crispy-sweet, tasty snow peas, with steamed rice on the side. What a dinner meal!
