Sautéed Asparagus is perhaps one of the simplest dishes that’s not only quick to prepare, but will help you to stay fit, while enjoying a delicious meal. After a quick check on its nutritional value, Asparagus alone in a meal, serves you with quite a list of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Asparagus also has a very low calorie content. Don’t take my words for it, there are too many Healthline sites you can check to back it up. Here’s how Cathy made her Sautéed Asparagus:
ingredients: 1-2 servings
1 bundle fresh Asparagus
1/4 cube butter
2 large cloves, finely chopped garlic
salt & pepper to taste
water
Quart sized, sliced lemon
Cooking Procedure:
- First, wash and cut an inch portion of the bottom edge of each asparagus spear. Remove attached leafy parts on the spears, if desired.
- On a pan, add a moderate amount of water, enough to allow asparagus to boil for 3-5 minutes until they are slightly wilted.
- Heat up butter on a large skillet and simply sauté asparagus in minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper, then quickly remove Sautéed Asparagus from heat to keep crispy cooked.
- Apply a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve it hot and enjoy!
Tip: A plate of Sautéed Asparagus and a glass of water, or have at it with a small portion of a lean white meat dish, if you want to keep the balance of a healthy dieting.
