The term Sarciado is derived from the Tagalog word “sarsa”, meaning “salsa” in Spanish. It’s basically cooking fish in thickened tomato sauce and spices. Also spelled “sarsiado” in Tagalog, Tilapia is the typical ingredient for this flavorful Pinoy dish.
Others use beef for Sarsiado, but Millie is not a big fan of beef, though we know chicken is also an option. But, using Halibut as a substitute to Tilapia for her Sarsiadong Isda, isn’t such a bad idea after all. In fact, Halibut Sarciado or Sarsiadong Dapa turned out to be such a flavorful sarciado dish to serve. Halibut is rich in protein plus Omega3, which is good for your heart health.
