Guacamole, originally a Mexican dish used as a tortilla dip, has become a popular corn chip dip in America. It’s made by finely chopping ripe avocado and combining it with onions, tomatoes, cilantro leaves, finely chopped jalapeno peppers, and a squeeze of lime juice. To complete the dish, sprinkle it with olive oil, salt, and crushed black peppers. Guacamole is commonly served as an appetizer or snack during family or social gatherings.
As time has passed, many people have experimented with various ingredients to create their own unique version of this delicious avocado dip. Millie is no exception, and she has shared her own homemade recipe that’s good to the last bite. Here’s a look at her mouth-watering guacamole dip.
Ingredients: 4-6 servings
4 finely chopped, ripe avocados
1 small finely chopped tomato
1/4 cup thinly sliced, then chopped white onion
1/2 of medium size, finely chopped green bell pepper
2 tbsp. of finely chopped cilantro leaves
2 tbsp. of vegetable oil
A quarter slice of lemon juice
A pinch of salt & pepper to taste
Preparation:
Cut ripe avocados in half, remove the seeds, then finely chop them along with all other vegetable ingredients(tomatoes, green bell pepper, cilantro leaves, onions).
Gently mix all chopped ingredients together on a bowl, apply 2 tablespoon of vegetable oil, then sprinkle a pinch of more each, of salt and pepper as desired.
Squeeze a quarter part of the lemon for the juice, gently mix thoroughly to fully incorporate all ingredients. When done, cover the bowl with a plastic wrap, leave it in the fridge to cool off for at least an hour prior to serving.
Tip: Using lime and jalapeno peppers are originally great, but for those who prefer light spice should try Millie’s green bell peppers. Enjoy!
