Mark’s Sautéed Chicharo(Snow Peas) and sliced Chayote Squash with oyster sauce, is a quick and easy, yet, a delicious recipe for lunch or dinner. Sautéed with onions and garlic, a tablespoon of oyster sauce and salt and pepper to taste, it’s all there is. You will enjoy the crunchy-sweet taste of the chicharo(snow peas), and the juicy-soft flavor of the sliced chayote squash. This is the quickest way to cook a lunch or dinner meal that’s not just health, but a meal your family will enjoy.
Ingredients: 3-4 servings
2 cups of chicharo(snow peas)
2 large chayote squash, thinly sliced in elongate shapes
2 cloves of chopped garlic
1/2 medium, sliced onions
1 tsp oyster sauce
1/4 tsp soy sauce(optional)
1 tbsp. cooking oil
1/4 tsp crushed black peppers
Cooking Procedure:
- Sautee onions and garlic on a heated oil. Add the chayote slices and stir to combine.
- Apply oyster sauce and crushed black peppers to season. Keep stirring for 5-8 minutes, until chayote turns slightly soft.
- Add the snow peas. Apply soy sauce, if desired. Continue to stir ingredients for another 5-8 minutes until chayote squash are soft, while snow peas retains its crispy taste.
- Remove from heat. Serve Oyster Sauce Chicharo with Chayote Squash hot with steamed rice.
