Making Fried Rice can be as simple as sautéing chopped garlic in cooking oil, prior to applying steamed rice to fry, or applying more ingredients from shrimps to eggs, to chicken or pork slices, and a list of vegetables like carrots, peas, kernels and spices. With Janis’s fried rice, adding shredded crab meat would easily perk up its taste: like what she did to her Crab Meat Fried Rice(Sinangag sa Alimasag)!

Simply made, but flavorful to taste, Janis’s delicious Crab Meat Fired Rice(Sinangag sa Alimasag) is sautéed with garlic and onions, mixed with scrambled eggs, shredded crabmeat and slight amount of sugar. It’s topped with chopped scallions, then served with a cup of hot coffee and cream. What a great start of the morning!

Ingredients: 3-4 servings

2 cups of steamed rice
1 cup of shredded crab meat
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 medium, sliced onions
1/2 tsp of brown sugar(dissolved in small amount of water)
1 tsp of patis(fish sauce)
salt & pepper to taste
2-3 tbsp. of cooking oil

Cooking Procedure:

  1. Heat up the oil on a pan, then start to sauté garlic and onions. Add the crabmeat, follow it up with fish sauce, dissolved brown sugar, then stir fry it until they are browned.
  2. Add scrambled eggs and stir to combine ingredients. Add steamed rice, next, apply salt and peppers, then continue to stir for 5-8 minutes until all ingredients incorporate and rice is browned.
  3. Top it with chopped scallions prior to serving. Serve it with fried fish or meat and hot coffee or cocoa on the side. Enjoy the Crabmeat Fried Rice(Sinangag sa Alimasag) yumminess!

Note: Try applying a teaspoon of oyster sauce to the mix. Crab meat fried rice is delicious with Tocino or Longaniza. Enjoy!
